Integrate Wordpress with myMailMarket
A common request of our clients is the immediate link between their blog and our myMailMarket email marketing platform. People who like to signup for the newsletter can immediately be added to the addresslist in myMailMarket.
So without further ado, here are the simple steps to have the link operational! Note that you must be able to access the \plugins directory on your Wordpress hosting website.
1) Login to myMailMarket
After logging in, go to the top right section, click on menu 'API'. At this page, scroll to the bottom and you will find a downloadable plugin: "Wordpress plugin". Click on the link to save the ZIP archive file to your computer.
2) Unzip and upload
Unzip the zip archive file to a directory of choice on your computer. Now start your FTP program (eg. Filezilla) and upload the unzipped directory into the \wp-content\plugins directory.
3) Log on to Wordpress and activate
Log on as an administrator to your Wordpress, click in the left menu on 'Plugins'. Select the plugin and click 'Activate'.
In the Wordpress menu a new menu item has now shown up:
4) Set up key and shared secret
Click in the Wordpress menu of 'myMailMarket Subscription' on 'Account Settings' and make sure to fill in the API key and Shared Secret. You will find these settings when you log on to myMailMarket, and click on the API page (same page where you downloaded the Wordpress plugin).
After saving your changes, the system will test your settings. If succesfull, it will load all addresslists of the linked website in myMailMarket.
5) Set up the widget
Now click in the left menu on 'Appeareance'-> 'Widgets'. Check for a widget named M3 Subscription.
Drag the widget into a menu (main sidebar, footer sidebar, ...)
Go to your blog page and check the bar where you placed the widget. You can adapt the fields, titles and button text in the Subscription settings in Wordpress.
